Default Get ready for Paczki Day.

I love Paczki Day! Those lard covered sweet puff cakes loaded with cholesterol. I'm about to head to Downtown Hamtramck and pick them up. Lines in most Polish owned bakeries will be packing, so be there early.

It will be a mob scene, party all day long in Hamtramck tomorrow. Good luck finding parking.

For some reason this year Paczki Day floated like a lead balloon. Not even any real MSM coverage in our area.

Coverage or not, it sure was fun. Breakfast at "the Moose" at 8:30 am, drinking at New Dodge at 9:00 am. We left there at 11:30 am [[it was getting too crowded to turn around, but was hard to leave anyway). Went to Post 10 for the Paczki eating contest. The reining champ was pacing the floor, getting his head in the game. And then it started! 23 paczki! That's 22 more than I can eat. More beer. Went home at 6 pm. Called a friend and told them I was going to run some errands ... and then fell asleep for 11 hours.

Good work Rick. Gotta do what ya gotta do. Sounds like a good day.
