    Default Rutgers fans loved Detroit

So I occasionally post on a MSU sports board, I checked the out Rutgers site to see they had anything to say about their trip to Detroit for the bowl game. Not one bad review "a blast", "fun", "friendly" were just some they ways they described their trip. Not that I'm surprised, people generally have a good time here once they visit.

That's great to see. Hopefully Detroit will start to get some of the better recognition it deserves.

Met some Rutgers players at the bar at Slow's, very friendly, polite young men. Had some laughs with them as they watched other team members try to find their way in.

Thankfully, NJ/NY folks aren't the type that would have their sensibilities offended from seeing a little blight and heavy industry, and I am sure they could appreciate the amenities and points of interest of greater downtown.

Shared a flight to NY with lots of RU fans and they were all smiles [[I am sure winning helps). Kudos to them for coming to the D on Xmas.

Wouldn't mind seeing the bowl moved back to the 28-29th. Would love to see the powers that be, including the Big Ten, lobby for a slight upgrade in that regard. It would surely increase attendance.

This is a fact that I have found correct repeatedly in the last couple years. I enjoy going out of my way to introduce myself to people who are obviously from out of town specifically to be friendly AND to get their impression of Detroit during their visit.

I have yet to hear a bad review, in fact these people will go on and on about the restaurants, things to see, comerica, night life, casinos, river walk, friendly people, clubs, ford field, concerts DIA etc...The next praise is how everthing is "walkable" from the "cool hotels" Book Cadillac, MGM, Greektown, Mariot to everything they did while in town. The biggest complaint by far is "we should have stayed down here, we didn't know it was like this we are staying out in Troy, Southfield, Novi etc...and we have been driving down here every day, what a mistake."
