Default Rehab of Family Home Leads to TV show

A soon-to-premier cable TV series will spotlight the arc of Detroit's history and its hoped-for resurgence through Christopher Lee's rescue and renovation of a 111-year-old house, once owned by Lee's great-grandfather and lost in the Great Depression.

It is nice to see that were able to purchase it with most of the original fixtures and features intact, and appreciate them enough to keep them.

I spent many years using the bathtub as a kitchen sink on different restorations and can appreciate what they went through in the beginning.

Hopefully this will draw more to the city for the caretaker adventures.

This project was first profiled by the Freep in early 2013, and a thread back then. It seems that they initially titled the story "Boston-Edison" even while the article itself said the house was north of B-E. I'm glad to see this story being updated and the house even better, and that it will be covered on a new DIY cable show.

The new article says this area between B-E and Highland Park is being referred to as "Woodward Village." First time I've heard that. An additional nice thing in the new Freep coverage is that they say a cousin has purchased a fixer in Arden Park.
