    29. Ring in the New Year with some big sounds as nationally renowned jazz star Alexander Zonjic and his band host “A Jazzy New Year’s Eve Concert” in Trenton at the Trenton Village Theatre. The lively end-of-2014 event includes performances from Detroit’s Queen of the Blues” Thornetta Davis as well as Chicago’s smooth jazz guitarist Nick Colionne. Doors will open at 9:30 p.m. Dec. 31 at the Trenton Village Theatre, and the concert will take place from 10 p.m. to midnight. A champagne toast at midnight, gourmet desserts and coffee, door prizes and photo opportunities with the artists will round out the evening. The Trenton Village Theatre is at 2447 W. Jefferson Ave. in Trenton. Tickets are $50 a person and available at dypac.com or 313-964-5050.

    30. Crystal Gardens is once again hosting its annual New Year's Eve Gala. Doors open at 7 p.m. with hors d'oeuvres and a buffet dinner at 8 p.m. The night also features continuous music and big-screen TVs to watch the ball drop at midnight. Tickets are $70 per person. The Orlando Banquet Center in Riverview is hosting its New Year's Eve party starting at 7:15 p.m. The event features a seven-course dinner and a champagne toast, as well as continuous live music with Danny Wild & Tender Years and The Prolifics Motown Review.
