If dubya hadn't decided to oust Saddam, we could have actually eradicated most of the Taliban leadership. ISIS would not have a foothold in a thoroughly dysfunctional Iraq. Concurrent to the dark ages [[and middle ages) at points, let's not forget that Islam was on the move to concur and convert, often by the sword along with the arts, sciences etc -- some of which was borrowed from the Chinese.
