Default The litmus test on health care...failed

Well, Henry Waxman cinched it in a negative way. He declared that he, and his fellow lawmakers would not be subjected to the health care reform they have in store for everyone else.

    That says it all.

While not agreeing on every measure of the health care bill..it is a start..far better than our current system...
which by the way has again denied payment to a Medical Doctor saying that removal of a precancerous growth [[ordered by a Doctor) was unnecessary...guess they wanted it to become cancerous to pay for it..

It is a start down a one way dead end street.

Having a doctor against change isn't exactly a big surprise.

If you pay attention, you will note, no one satisfied with their current insurance, Henry Waxman or ccbatson or anyone else, has to go under a national plan. They can keep their insurance. IF a national plan survives the debate, it should be as a competitive option for those lacking insurance or seeking a change. Whether Congress is listening or not, it was our President's dream as a candidate that everyone in the country have insurance equivalent to Henry Waxman's. It may take time to get there, but we can make steps in that direction.

When did the goal change from "providing affordable health care" to "providing affordable health care insurance"? Seems like a bait-and-switch to me...

I am very much for change in health care. Try this on for size: Freeze and then phase out entitlements [[Medicare and Medicaid), Mandate current level contributions to these entitlements be used by the individual for health care in a manner that they choose [[HSA a good bet), do not tax these moneys at all, give tax credits/dedustions for these funds, if funds go unused they are the property of the individual concerned via the heirs, also tax free.

    How about that for change?
