Default Is Detroit ready to fight against Ebola?

There has lots of terrible breaking news about the Ebola virus scare in America. And its here!!! I was wondering is Detroit, surrounding suburbs and the of State of Michigan ready to fight Ebola?

So far Oakwood Hospital in Wayne, MI. [[ this is near the Detroit Metro-Airport) has done several Ebola and other infectious disease protocols? Would other hospitals in Michigan do the same? What to do if you got sick with 'flu-like symptoms' and think you might have Ebola? Should you go the hospital, health clinic or stay home. My best answer is go to the hospital fast!! And if you have Ebola, Don't panic. You will be put into and iso-room and be treated from there. Hope to God that a vaccine, Z-mapp and blood type antibodies to save your life. Otherwise Repent your sins and get ready to meet Jesus.

Too bad that they long time possessions and heirlooms will have to be burned, If you have a pet, its a possibility it could get Ebola and be either treated or burned its if dies quicker. How would you and your family and friends react? could they get Ebola if they touch you? Folks Ebola is real, its a doomsday virus meant to depopulate humans and animals to make way for evolution of Ebola-resistant creatures. But one day mankind will fight this even to the last man and woman on Earth.

Any thoughts? This is a very serious matter.

Perhaps people need to do their homework on EXACTLY how the virus actually works

Ebola isn't spread through the air, like the measles or flu.
It requires close contact with some bodily fluid,
such as blood or vomit, containing the virus.

Many, many, many DIE from stuff like the flu, and other items long before this came along

... nonetheless-- how prepared are the local hospitals and public health agencies with respect to public health emergencies?

Health care workers who come in contact with patients are
    expected to perform hand hygiene.
Within a single encounter with a patient, there can be
several times when hand hygiene should be performed.

Enforce a basic rule, remind workers, and stay vigilant - it would go a long long way

Virus is a virus, bacteria is a bacteria and parasite is a parasite. They don't have hearts or feelings for anyone. They can't love or hate. They are unforgivable! They don't care what race you are, what religion you praise. They don't give a hoot about you being smart, stupid, rich or poor. They were made by God as a clean up crew just in case if man or creature goes off balance on the Earth or violating nature! These pathogens run wild and loose and can escape containment all over the world. They can adapt to any environment tolerant to warm or cold areas. They can mutate, replicate for their survival. They will never stop until ever last creature or resources are consumed.

Man is not meant to mess with something that they don't know about. Leave it alone! God gave man to take watch over the Earth and tend his garden. He didn't say to destroy it.

So if we do our homework would we find stuff like this?

Ebola is airborne, according to a new report by the Center for Infectious Disease Research and Policy [[CIDRAP) at the University of Minnesota. Researchers at the university just advised the World Health Organization [[WHO) and the Centers for Disease Control [[CDC) that “scientific and epidemiologic evidence” now exists that proves Ebola has the potential to be transmitted via exhaled breath and “infectious aerosol particles.”

The authorities have admitted that if you're near someone [[like on a plane) who has the virus and they sneeze, you could get it from the droplets in the air. That's what I heard on CNN or FOX news.

SO, imagine that fact coupled with a disease brought here carelessly, and politically upon those with no immunity whatsoever already possibly compromised with respiratory issues. In Detroit?

There is a lot of hype and fear about this. People used to be fearful of HIV/AIDS and it's shortening of life. Now you can get Ebola and be dead in a few short days. Is Detroit ready to handle an outbreak isn't the correct question to ask. I'd say the correct question to ask would be:
Is the United States ready to handly a mass outbreak of Ebola? The answer to that is a resounding No. Only 4 medical centers in the country are able to handle a mass outbreak of infectious diseases, which is a bit concerning. But are we better suited, better prepared, and more educated on it than anywhere else? Absolutely Yes.

We need better preventative measures in place to quell any explosion of this disease in the US. Major restrictions or even a ban on flying from Ebola epicenters in Africa might be something to consider. Tighter screening procedures for international travel as well.

My fear is that the WHO is correct and we are seing 10,000 new cases a week by the end of the year if this isn't under control soon. If that scenario comes to fruition, it's inevitable the US will be affected in some fashion, it's just a matter of how prepared we are to handle it, which right now I don't believe we are.

Now what would happen if that female Dallas health care worker who was infected with Ebola took a flight to Detroit, MI. to plan her wedding? Is the Detroit City Government and the CDC ready for this outbreak? Detroit preparedness for Ebola and other bio-hazards is no easy task. There's lots of poor and uneducated folks in the ghetto hoods in Detroit don't know about Ebola virus? So simple handshake to sexual performances and Ebola will be out of control. Detroit and its suburbs will be quarantined in the flash. Our regional infrastructure will be in shambles for days to even years.

I'm not just looking at Detroit and its poor black ghettos, that includes Chicago, Los Angeles, New York City ect....

This is not just Oakwood Hospital overseeing the Ebola crisis, we need Henry Ford Hospital, Harper, Sinai-Grace, St. Johns, Beaumont to get the Ebola bio-hazard bandwagon, too. Be prepared for doomsday.

Ebola is not airborne! The virus is too heavy to float in the air. It have to mutate to lighter strain and lose most of its RHA elemental toxic substances. Also Ebola can't survive in extreme cold temperatures. Those who are living in the northern and south hemispheric regions for ok for now.

GOD wants people to die - IT is pre-ordained - YOUR day has already been choosen.
If your birthday date ends in the number 6, you will die of Ebola virus.
If you put Ebola on an airplane it is airborne, flying through the air - this is real !
I read it on the internet, really.

No city is ready for Ebola. Why not just use best practices to prevent yourself from getting the flu and try not to worry about it? They are pretty much the same preventative measures.

    1. God knows all people will die for they accepted the fruits to seek knowledge between right and wrong instead of spiritual knowledge that God has giving them. If you don't die from Ebola or other diseases, worldly knowledge, The Earth, Universe, God, Jesus, angels, Holy Ghost, Devil or his demons and your body will make us die. Can't live forever while in you're in flesh state. We all have leave the body one day.

    2. Through human and flying animals Ebola is airborne [[via vector)! But Ebola can't float in the air so it can't be airborne itself. It has to mutate and adapt to the oxygen-nitrogen environment. Besides Ebola can die out when exposed to sunlight, cold and other toxic detergents.

Well, you all want to know what's going on in our society before doomsday. Ebola virus outbreak is one those fear mongering tactics. The media keeps on reporting about it and people are scared and went into panic attacks! I'm glad the doctors back then were studying Ebola virus before the announced it the world. I'm glad that the media didn't leak about Ebola Outbreak in Zaire of 1976. I'm also glad that all doctors of the world were educated finding out what Ebola can do to any man or creature. Now we making snake oil cure all from Z-mapp to blood type antibodies to stop Ebola from turning patients into jello. Fewer people are cured from Ebola including two Americans. If the pandemic gets so um... America and the rest of the world in 1976, we're doomed to die before the year 2000.

Ebola today is hard news than Enterovirus D-68 and ISIS terrorism combined. Everytime there is an Ebola or bio-hazard outbreak occuring from Africa, America or other parts the world, The news media have to report it. It's up the people to be mediated. Either do something to save our society or do nothing and watch society die. Ebola is a real ultimate killer of men and animals. So we have some options. Are going to agree with doomsayers and fear mongers who leak Ebola to national news. Or are we just to ignore it while Ebola is killing every creature in the planet. All the nations of Earth must prepare for doomsday no matter if comes from outer space or inner space. Just like the bible 'We are living in the last days.' Anything could happen to us.

Life is fun, but it can be cruel.

As a microbiology professor, I can assure you all that Ebola is not now and never will be a problem in this country. But get your flu shot. Flu kills up to 50,000 people in the US each year. Ebola has only killed 4200 in the history of the world.
