    Default Ralph Wilson Estate

I was just reading about this today and was wondering if anyone had heard anything else about it.

I hear his estate wants to spend it all on widening roads that don't need it.

And to bring in a Cheesecake Factory.

Money can only be spent in Buffalo and Detroit. Great win for both cities.

...here come all the postings about money that will be squandered/stolen, etc. by "giving it to Detroit"...

The Ralph Wilson residence is a 1 story relatively modern home that most people don't even notice when they pass by on Lakeshore Dr. just north of the GP Yacht Club and GPS Municipal Park. My guess is that it, and the adjacent caretakers residence property just north of it may end up as being part of an expanded GPS Municipal Park... although the caretakers residence at the north end of the property may be protected from demolition due to it possibly being a historic property.

I think that anyone who posts here with half a brain will remember how much good the Skillman and Kresge Foundations do for Detroit.... but it's the people who don't quite make it that far that you're worried about....

This is really a great win, and can hopefully foster some great connections between Detroit and Buffalo, too.

Also, I hear he owned some original Matisse's that will need to find a home.

I wonder if all the talk of selling the DIA works changed his mind about donating it....

    That, indeed, is great news.

Some folks give more to those who don't need it [[because they like to be with 'winners') and neglect those who would could really use it.

Ralph C. Wilson Jr. and Buffalo Bills will always belong in the same sentence and Detroit too.

Too bad Ralph's family did not leave these 4 paintings to the DIA. They will more than likely end up in China somewhere never to be seen in public again.
