Imagine.......an auto executive actually living in Detroit!

Plenty of them do....Just ask this guy
We love that General Motors has decided to keep its business operations right in downtown Detroit. The downtrodden city’s economy and job market essentially relies on the company’s presence. There is some downsides to working in Detroit though, something Chevrolet global marketing chief Tim Mahoney learned the hard way earlier this month.

Upon walking out from his condo to his 2014 Chevrolet Tahoe, Mahoney discovered the wheels had been stolen off of it. The thieves appear to have left the car on some bricks and rocks and frankly, were surprised the SUV didn’t topple off of them. Mahoney is fortunate his Tahoe didn’t have more damage done to it, as he said he only managed to get “425 miles on the odometer before the wheels went missing.”

Mahoney isn’t a Detroit native, growing up in the safe and small town of Haddonfield, New Jersey. We’d be surprised to learn that anyone had ever stolen anything in Haddonfield, so Mahoney probably isn’t used to having to watch for rim thieves. Welcome to Detroit, Tim. Enjoy your stay.

I think the rehab thing was ok, but this is much better.

And he's actually going to live there. Reportedly his wife who has her own accomplished career in NYC is working from home in Detroit. From my brief googling, they have kids, who will presumably be living in the house as well. Often enough you hear about someone buying a house in Detroit, which is good, but it's not their full time residence or they don't have kids. In this case it looks like a prominent family is truly moving to the city of Detroit.

Fair point. To wit: growing up, my pediatrician operated his office out of his house, which was right at the corner of Parkside and 7 Mile. Granted that makes it Sherwood Forest and not PW, but I can't imagine that the zoning restrictions are all that different...
