Default Dally In The Alley 2014

    Copied last year's post:

Been to nearly every one. Enjoy visiting the neighborhood where I came of age, and meeting old neighbors. However, the years have taken their toll, and I have seen very few of that crowd the past few times.

We recognize only a couple of this year's scheduled bands. Does anyone have recommendations for "must see" performers?
Looking forward to being surprised by a few exciting acts.

We'll be in our green lawn chairs, near the Forest Stage, much of the time. Drop by and say hello. Peace.

260 views, not one suggestion. What's up with the bands?

Although I recognize some of the names I've not seen any of these acts. Thats what I love about the Dally, being surprised by new bands. As always I'll be there wearing my Vernor's work shirt and sipping Ghettoblaster. Is the martini couch happening?

As far as the Martini Couch goes it should be on. Anne Kennedy who has donated her garage space for one of the beer garages and storage for Dally supplies passed away and Im not sure what is happening with that, who inherited the property, all that. Her garage is where I always have the couch. Im sure one way or another Ill be dragging a couch down there. BTW, does anyone have a couch they dont want that is clean? Dally really snuck up on me this year and missed all the meetings. Im hoping I still have a job setting up and taking down/clean up.

If your not familiar with the Martini Couch just look for the couch and introduce yourself.

Blah...bummer how it works out for us college football fans. MSU vs. Oregon and UM vs. ND on Sat night. Go State!

Wish I could go, but football has me fully consumed at the moment.

Looks like the Martini Couch is on, now I just need a better couch. If you have an old one you want to get rid of [[Please no flood couches) and its fairly clean I can possibly remove it for you.

Hey Djano, not sure if you'll see this before Dally, but I bought Anne's house from her children. I'll stop by and introduce myself. I have an idea for future couches.

Looks like the the rain will end early today!

webband1, sorry I have not been down there since this morn. Im under the weather and skipping the Dally except for the take down at midnight. Martini Couch is there just no martinis. Anyone's welcome to use it. Its a great place to sit back and watch the people go round and round.

Sorry you were feelin' down, D.

We went through for a few hours...between 5 and 7, roughly...and the crowd was pleasant, if not as densely-packed as in previous years. Strange, since the weather was so amazing.

Oddly, I only heard a bit of a band on the main stage...the alley stages were apparently in the middle of band changes...but even the DJ over on Hancock wasn't making noise. It was the quietest Dally I'd ever experienced.

But the freaks were out in force...and they are beauty beyond measure. The people-watching was fabulous.

Bummed I didn't know Lightshow Bob was doing something huge for his birthday...we would've waited for it. Hope that isn't what caused that alley transformer to burst into fireworks. This will be known in the future as the Dally that got Evacuated...the only one devoid of significant after-party action. Ever.

    Cheers...

I was there from 5-7 as well. Nobody on the couch and Django I hope you're feeling better today. Perfect weather and a great crowd. Beer lines were longest ever, maybe a sign of improving economy. Saw Lac La Belle, Radio Burns, and My Pal Val. All good acts but really liked My Pal Val and will go to see them again.
