I recommend these to all who are interested:

I ate a lot of lunches with Soupy Sales and even remember his late noght jazz program. Most of what exists today is from his New York and LA shows.

The first time I saw TV was in 1948; there was an appliance store at Grand River near Littlefield, and they had one in the window. It was turned on, and a Felix the Cat cartoon was playing. I [[at all of 11 or 12 years of age) was fascinated. Later that year, we bought our first TV, probably a ten-inch Zenith. I never forsaw what TV has become at that time, sad to admit. The first time I saw color TV was in a department store downtown; it was a test broadcast of a football game with the big wheel spinning in front of the tube to provide the colors. I remember being impressed by the vivid red-white-blue of the Confederate flag waving [[forgive me, Danny!). Today, of course, I have the usual 50-inch wide-screen HDTVs in the house which I take for granted.

Clare, "Milky the Clown", Cummings died on October 31, 1994 of congestive heart failure, on the anniversary of Houdini’s death. He donated most of his magic tricks and one of his costumes to the American Museum of Magic in Marshall, Michigan, where they are on permanent display.

Gentile & Binge made a brief transition from radio to TV, Ralph did a pirate guy and was slated to be Captain Jolly but didn't make it....health reasons I think. Too bad that didn't work out, given Capt. Jolly popularity with kids, I woulda had great bragging rights, he was my ma's cousin.

I am working on a very serious script that involves a Hollywood star and a local Detroit TV personality. I would love to meet up with anyone who was working at a local Detroit TV station in the late 50s or early 60s. My story is grounded in Detroit, and will absolutely take place here, and will star....some Dude....and Angela Loretta Mary Catherine Higgins....oh, and Meryl Streep in the all important cameo.
