Thanks Kathleen! I wasn't sure I was going to make it this year... but I'll again be an onsite guide at the Fillmore/State Theatre. The leaseholders [[Live Nations) have done a good job of taking care of that theatre in the past, and I hope to see some additional signs of restoration!

I understand that Dave Calendine, the house organist at the Fox, will be playing the mighty 4/36 Wurlitzer Organ once again this year. I'm going to see if I can get him to play Widor's Toccata again this year....

Anyone attend? Share your thoughts about your experience? Anything new and/or unexpected?

I know that the Madison Theater marquee has been appropriated by the restaurant in the corner of the Madison building [[Sorry, name escapes me!!!???) But I think it would be very cool if the marquee came back to life with a rotation of films that played there - from as early as "The Big Parade" to "Spartacus" to "Splendor in the Grass" to "West Side Story" to "Lawrence of Arabia" to "The Sound of Music" Historical cultural notes rimmed in lights. Why not?
