The Detroit art scene which has grown greatly in recent years fueled by a long-running community and tradition and now by an influx of artists from across the nation and around the world. The following 3rd Thursday Gallery Crawl event listing from an email provided by ArtDetroitNow gives a taste of the scope of that rising scene.

However noticeably missing is the biggest event of this weekend, a massive show in a new industrial setting in Highland Park, 333 Midland which includes many of the famous 'old lions' of the Cass Corridor. It may be a turning-point indicator of the ascendance of the Cass Corridor and its gentrification that has that long time center of Detroit's art bohemia as moved on to a new gritty setting.
