I've driven by the Senate many times and wondered where secure parking is available for events. Is there a parking lot in back, or do you park on the street?

The fenced lot is along the east side of the theater off of Gilbert. There is a side door entrance from the parking lot. Street parking is also monitored during shows along Gilbert near the fenced area to Michigan and along Michigan Ave in front of the Senate [[Michigan entrance).

If riding bicycles to the shows, the best thing is to bring them inside the fenced area to lock up.

Don't just drive by, stop in for an event.

I've gone to a few films, parked accross the street, and never had any problems. They always have someone watching the lot. I never felt chancey coming and going. They've done a great job on the place with a shoestring budget.

Thanks for the aerial view DTOSEvents! This shows a feature that is very common in old movie palaces in urban areas on major thoroughfares. The land along the main street was so expensive, that most theatres on main streets had little more than an entrance with marquee and vertical blade sign on the main street. Behind that was a long passageway that connected the entrance and ticket/storm lobby from the theatre lobby spaces well off the main road. Then the auditorium was behind the lobby, with the back of the balcony usually above the theatre lobby.
