    Default Buick Open to end...........

Well, I guess it is the end of an era. The Buick Open is ending and this year will be the final event. Just another blow to the psyche of many Michigan boosters. The PGA will probably move to some location in the Sunbeklt since everyone else is.

Next week's Buick Open, one of the oldest events on the PGA Tour, will be the final version of the event, with General Motors pulling its sponsorship after 51 years, Golfweek reported.
Tom Pernice Jr., a member of the Tour's Player Advisory Council, and a second, unnamed source, said the Tour planned to formally announce a new sponsor and venue the week after the July 30-Aug. 2 tournament is played, according to the report.

Yeah, it makes great business sense to sponsor a sporting event while the company is fighting for survival.

The company has been excised from the equation and replaced by Obama....there is no struggle any longer, and if there were, the first thing that should have happened would be to go through a just bankruptcy procedure where secured investors get first consideration, not the UAW.

FYI, the UAW took pay cuts and received stock as collateral. Just the same as the creditors would have gotten had they agreed, but they wanted to sell off the company instead.

Under the new plan, they got burned for being greedy. Investing in a hedge fund dose not guarantee profit, just as owning stock does not. The whole stock market is a gamble, win some, loose some.

Besides, in this case, its in this county's best interests to have a GM that stays an American Company, as part of national security.

The rule of law was bypassed at Obama's direction using underhanded techniques.
