    Default A question in concerns to the early on Michigan State Constabulary - [State Police]

    This picture is from a much larger recruitment poster I do believe.
    It states; "A Little Monkey Drill"
    Does anyone know what "A Little Monkey Drill" is; what was it function; what purpose did it serve? Or was it just horse play?...[pun intended].

    When training new trooper to work with horses, there were quite a few gymnastic evolutions that served only the purpose of getting them over their fear of horses and fear of falling from a horse.
