  1. Default Red Wings Goalie Jimmy Howard Loses His Head

His bobble head that is. Stolen from Campus Martius overnight.

"Police believe five white males posed for pictures with the Red Wings goaltender statue before removing the head. The group tossed it in the backseat of a dark-colored Chevy Malibu and drove away.

Raj says a number of surveillance cameras could be seen in the area. Police plan to review the footage."

Alcohol gives one all sorts of bright ideas.

The Pavel Datsyuk bobblehead in Grand Circus has been missing its head since at least Saturday. I wonder what brought all this attention on the Howard statue now. Is Campus Martius/Cadillac Square that much more prominent? I just find it odd that nearly a week goes by and the Datsyuk vandalization gets zero press, but the Howard decapitation is breaking news.

Jimmy Howard SUCKS! He can't a flying puck when it comes in his face.

The Johan Franzen life size bobble head disappeared on its own. It's probably floating around somewhere but don't look for it in any corners.

Damn savages. No respect at all for other people's property. We should lock them all up in jail and throw away the key.

Well, it appears that Howard's head has finally been found...in an Allen Park park.

ALLEN PARK — Fans often want to go “off with their head” after a player or team puts forth a poor performance.

Rarely, though, do they follow through on it.

But that was the case Thursday morning in Detroit when a life-size bobble head of Detroit Red Wings’ goaltender Jimmy Howard was stolen out of its place at Campus Martius.

A few hours later, the head was discovered at Milward Park, near I-75, in Allen Park.
I wonder if Fox Sports Detroit will continue placing these statues around the city during each "April in the D" promotion after this...
