the Davey terminal seems to be scarce of old pics, but i'm interested in how it looked back in the day, other than the infamous "Concourse C".

It does seem true that photos of the Davey Terminal [[aka North Terminal, Terminal 2) are hard to come by. Which is too bad, because it was a rather interesting building. Certainly much more so than the old Smith "main" Terminal. It was designed by Smith, Hinchman & Grylls as a sort of knock-off of Saarinen's terminal work, using the most modern concrete applications of that time. I remember the huge vaulted ceiling inside, and the echo effect.
Pretty nice building, I like the openings around the columns and above the walls and that extending canopy roof is well done.
There was something special or record setting about the roof of that terminal at the time it was built. Can't remember what it was. Maybe one of the architect geeks here will know.
It was a beautiful building inside until it got cluttered with crap, but always noisy.
was this where the international flights came IN?
Picture of the old Concourse E in the Davey Terminal - low ceilings, crowded, cluttered, small gate waiting areas. They did try to brighten it up in the 90s, but that was a band-aid solution.

I had put out of my mind how bad the old terminals were. Probably adequate in the 60s, but truly awful by the 90sPicture of the old Concourse E in the Davey Terminal - low ceilings, crowded, cluttered, small gate waiting areas. don't get me wrong, but the smith terminal was, too, a intresting building, until the building was cluttered with crap, same with the davey terminal.
