Tomorrow marks the unofficial start of the 2014 DCFC season with a pre-season opener against SVSU tomorrow. They will be playing in Berkley at Hurley Field at 6 p.m. The $40 season ticket [[8 games) is one of the best values in town. Been waiting about 9 months for this, so I'm pretty pumped. Pregame festivities will take place at the Berkley Front.

The home opener at Cass Tech will be Saturday, May 10.

Yes. They play their home games at Cass Tech. They'll also play a couple other games in Michigan when they play in Lansing and Dearborn. Here is the schedule:

DCFC lost a heart-breaker in Livonia for the first round of the US Open Cup Wednesday, 2-2 [[3-1 PK). Really disappointing, as they gave up a goal in the waning minute of stoppage, and they would have played the Michigan Bucks in round 2.

Tomorrow marks the season opener against the Cincinnati Saints, a new club in the league. They play at Cass Tech at 1 p.m., with pregame festivities taking place at Harry's and the official postgame party at Thomas Magee's in Eastern Market. Tickets are $8 in advance, $10 at the gate.

Crowds have been growing pretty rapidly over the years, and the team averaged ~1500 per game last year, peaking at ~2600 for a playoff semifinal Saturday night game. With the hype and media surrounding the team the last year, I'm really interested to see what kind of crowd this one draws, being the season opener on a Saturday.
