    Default Tall-eez Shoes [[1459 Woodward)

I walked by this place yesterday and noticed some stools, chairs, a coffee machine, and what looked like maybe some kitchen equipment inside. Are there any stories/rumors out there as to something happening in that locale?

Word on the street is this is a new concept store for Target. They will take over the old Tall-Eez and rename it Tar-Heel and cater to tall men and special size shoes.

As having a size 14 shoe and being only a few blocks away, I approve!

I heard it's going to be a Cheese Cake Factory.

"We have bonds to fit anybody...." A coffee shop? "what'll you have? small, medium, large, or our Tall-ezz?"

Is there anything he doesn't own, or at least operate, on Woodward downtown?

Enough with the rumors, it flies! I heard this, I heard that. Tall-eez Shoes has been closed for over 6 years. The building will continue to stay vacant until Dan Gilbert can put one of his pop-art stores in that building. He can put a Apple Store if wanted to. Right now there is no quick development of any clothier, restaurant or Radio Shack in Woodward Business corridor from Grand River to Grand Circus Park, other than a liquor store, Woodhouse Spa, Himelhocks, and new yuppified apartments, condos and tech job ventures. If I see primier development opportunity a sign in front of the vacant Downtown Detroit storefront or steel fence with new business sign will let me know. until then enjoy what Gilberttown has to offer.

How about Tall - EE Z Chixs on Woods strip club? "Home of the free Target shoe voucher with every 20th lap dance."

Now is the time to re-launch her business. The store has gotten a decade of free advertising at no cost, prior to the grand opening. This is unheard of!

so, why was the store named "Tall-eez Shoes" to begin with?

Tall-eez shoes is owned by the Tatarians, who also own the old oslo building across the street, and the Singer building down the block. They've had it for quite a while and seem to be waiting for a buyout; perhaps these rumors come from a Gilbert offer? The Tall-eez shoes building is sorta messed up inside, scrappers ~10 years ago throwing radiators down the stairs and such.

It sold shoes for tall women. Most don't have an easy time finding shoes.

I guess Tall-eez sounded better than "Shoes for Women with Big-Ass Feet"

Both tall women and tall women look-alikes.

Yes, they were a first in that. Before then it was hard to find shoes if you wore over size 9. They also carried wide large sizes too. Over time the price was just too high, especially as other stores began to offer larger sizes and online options began.
