My wife and I checked out Packard: The Last Shift last night. I loved it. Combined with beautiful and tragic imagery, personal anecdotes of Packard employees, a brief history of the plant, and even an interview with Dominic Cristini and Fernando Palezuelo, I feel like it was educational and thought provoking. The movie definitely portrayed Cristini in a different light compared to a lot of things I've read and it made me realize how little I really know about the whole situation. The Q&A afterwards was interesting as well. After the movie, I went online and checked out Palezuelo's other projects in Lima and they are beautifully restored and occupied. I joked with my wife afterwards that I'm surprised all of the women in the crowd didn't start throwing bras on stage when the guy talked because of his accent. She said he's quite the silver fox. It was a very entertaining and educational night.
