    It is surprising that Huffington Post does not mention the role that Detroit played as the Arsenal of Democracy. Without the productivity of Detroit
    workers, it seems likely the war in the European theater would have lasted
    much longer.
    Also, the modern blue collar middle class emerged in Detroit and other
    Rust Belt cities thanks to the vehicle industry and its many suppliers.

    Because HuffPost thinks that commerce is unimportant and that arts, music, and culture is all important.
