Default Hebrew School Rehab Moving Forward

While dmike76 posted this rare bit of good news on the otherwise depressing Wurlizter thread, I thought it needed its own thread. Since we seem to be in a slump of bad news.

This project, at least, seems to be on track and 25 new apartments will be created.

Another picture of Tushiyah United Hebrew School. It would be interesting to see a list of Detroit schools that were once abandoned but subsequently were
    converted to other uses.

One that comes right to my mind is the former Nellie Leland School on Antietam in Lafayette Park. Now called the Leland Lofts, it seems to be doing well.

This project is progressing nicely. With so many vacant and abandoned schools, its nice to see one more being repurposed into housing. I suppose most are located where there is no such demand, which is a shame as old schools can be quite striking.

there should be an aggressive attempt to repurpose abandoned schools into new uses such as residential apartments and condominiums.
