    Default Jason Manor Fire

Detroit — A four-alarm fire at an occupied apartment building on the city’s west side had residents jumping from windows to escape the massive blaze.

The north end of the three-story building, Jason Manor Apartments, was destroyed by the towering flames burning through the building. Residents were forced to jump from windows to escape the blaze. An EMS presence was requested and on scene.
Used to know somebody that lived there back in the late 70s

Basically a residential street with not much access for that much fire equipment.

Drawing so many units that far out on the west side must put a very serious drain on resources for the rest of the west side if anything else were to break out.

Saw this earlier on the morning news and assumed it was the vacant apartments nearby that I pass everyday on the freeway. So sorry to see that it was occupied and that many were forced to jump from windows in order to survive. Now the news is reporting it as suspicious because the police were on scene after a late night party altercation and then flames were originally seen coming out of both sides of the building.

The local ABC affiliate here in San Diego [[10news.com) has reported this story twice this morning. Second time around complete with video; this station frequently airs stories involving Michigan, more specifically Detroit.
Perhaps they’ll air a story explaining to San Diegans what a Paczki is!

Looks like DFD saved many lives, according to the reports.

Very proud of my brothers and sisters in the DFD fighting a huge fire with the antiquated equipment they have. They run into the fire while everyone is running out.

Heard the owners just bought the place a year ago and couldn't afford the over 60k per year property insurance premium. So they had no insurance, liability only, nothing on the building itself.
