    Kind of a sick joke this gets announced the same day my dad's pension gets gutted but...

    I'm eyeing a couple of positions. Also forwarding to my brother.

    The news last night mentioned that Detroit residents will get, not exclusive, but preferrential hiring priority.

    If you know someone that's been hunting for some [[better) work this might help.

    Might actually be on purpose. One quick look at the news coverage and you see that 90% of attention is cuts being made to creditors. A lot of people have no clue that the primary objective of bankruptcy is to start improving city services and grow the tax base again.

    Well there you go, for all of the people who said "nobody will work for the city again" even the kids of some of the peeps who are going to get the shaft in this deal are ready to roll up there sleeves and get to work making Detroit the city it's people deserve.

    I received an email last week for a mid-level [[$45/hr) IT position with the city of Detroit from a headhunter. Need to know several server flavors, plus the usual [[email, mobile, VOIP, etc.) PM me if anyone is interested in the email.
