    Default Injury Attorney Recommendations

Does anyone have any recommendations for an attorney specializing in medical negligence cases? I have a friend who either started out with a broken neck or ended up with one after they went to their chiropractor. The chiropractor never recommended an x-ray or seeking medical advice after my friend kept commenting about not being able to feel his feet or hands. His MD recommended an MRI where they found his #2, 3, and 4 vertebrae shattered. The chiropractor kept putting it off as a "pinched nerve" and was using some kind of pressure tool on his neck. He is very lucky to be alive and not paralyzed, but he is unemployed and has no medical insurance and they are wondering about seeking damages for their medical expenses and 6 months of walking around with a broken neck because he didn't immediately recommend an x-ray or seeing an MD, especially after he complained of no feeling. The initial visit was because of neck/back pain after a fall on the ice where he hit his head. Thanks for any help.

Billy: If your friend wants a good attorney, he should contact the County Bar Association for whatever county he is in. They keep listings of attorneys by specialty, I believe. I used to know of a good one, but his name escapes me at the moment. If it comes back to me, I will let you know.

Most medical malpractice attorneys will give a free consultation and let the client know up front if they have a good case or not. If the attorney says that they will take the case "on contingency" where the attorney does not get paid unless you win, beware of one thing: This will mean that the attorney will get no FEE...but it does not mean that his client will not have to pay for "costs", such as filing fees, depositions, testimony of specialists, etc. This can be very costly. Just a head's up for your friend.

I wish your friend the best of luck and hope that there is a sizable recovery for this terrible mistake.

Jules Olsman in Berkley is good. [[800) 366-8653

They are in northern Michigan by Traverse City, looking for a "downstate" attorney based on their own regular attorney's recommendation. Of course my first thought was 1-800-CALL-SAM, but I was curious what everyone here had to say.

I don't have a lawperson to recommend, BillyBBrew, but I will testify that Gazhekwe has been around this forum long enough for me to have concluded that she is sober-minded, compassionate, and responsible.
It seems, to me, very unlikely that she would recommend this Olsman person lightly, or for cheesy reasons.
I think it's probably worth, at the least, a phone call.
Best wishes to your friend, and to you, too, for caring enough to lend an assist.

Cheddar Bob, you're an idiot! And I mean that in the most complimentary way. "My kind of idiot," so to speak, although I daresay that I bow to your superiority in the field, *ahem.*

The video was-- what a surprise, coming from you!-- kind of mean, but funny.

Wait a minute. I thought you had been banned, and had taken to "dressing" up another locale. Hhmm. Perhaps you spent time in the Penalty Box, wherein a promise of more civil behavior was extracted?

I hope not. Some of us enjoy your mildly vicious persona, even if you get a little carried away during Recess.

Sorry, BillyBBrew, for contributing to a short thread-jacking, but the upside is that the goofing around will bounce your thread, temporarily, back to the top of the page.

It was more like a one week suspension and that was the end of it. No promises were made and I don't think any could be kept. I am who I am.

My best guess is that someone like cc complained that I kept reminding him about his proclivity for fetish porn that was exposed. He's admitted to reporting posters before, and he probably doesn't like every new poster here to find out that he likes to see naked girls smoking cigarettes. So, that's my best guess.

Anyway, anyone that needs a personal injury lawyer is encouraged to contact the Goldsteins from my previous link. That's who I would go with if I needed a personal injury lawyer.

I second Jules Olsman. Lawyer of integrity, knowledge.
