Sorry $9.00 for Eggs Benedict is a Price that a New Yorker Pays. I live in Detroit where it should be $4.95 or $5.95. I am of the belief that breakfast should be reasonable and not pricey as I wear my gucci shoes and wife has her mint in coat check.

Only the fanciest places check your mints.

To paraphrase Homer Simpson, "Eggggs Ben-e-dict... mmmm..."

I had excellent Eggs Benedict at the Sunday Brunch at the Majestic Cafe. Okay they're ten bucks but they were worth it.

On Saturday and Sunday, try Foran's Grand Trunk Pub at 612 Woodward. But, you'll have to get over your aversion to an $8 price tag. That's basically what every meal costs Downtown.

    Big Boy serves them

+1 for Hudson Cafe. Worth the $9. Chinman, you should clarify if you're looking for the best Eggs Benedict or the cheapest.

Cheap Eggs Benedict usually = cheap Canadian bacon.

To me it's the quality of the English muffin. If it isn't Bays, forget it.

More like $13-18 in NYC. And that would be the lower end of the price spectrum.
The ingredients for that dish are not inexpensive, and operating a joint in the downtown area is costly, too.
There really is no gentle way of breaking this to you: I don't know why you think the dish should be $5-6 in Detroit, but you can forget about that... unless you're OK with some frozen version that you could toss in a microwave yourself.

Brooklyn st. Local has it but with some strange Canadian Bacon that's dark in color and tastes more beefsteak than ham. I wouldn't recommend it.

Louie's on Mack disappointed me with their Western omelet. Why would a ham shop use shredded scraps of ham for their omelet?? Put some identifiable, tasty ham in there, not the crap off the bottom of the slicer. And you call yourself a ham shop....

Not one of the places mentioned above or any place in the metro area has the ability to make anything resembling Hollandaise Sauce! Save your money and get something else.
