    Here is an article about the changing focus of law enforcement agencies not enforcing the law of the land.

    Well, if the article's true, the FBI should be ashamed of itself. It's hard to imagine how they can operate like that without simultaneously believing they have no legitimate purpose in life.

    My, how their reputation has changed over the decades!

    I've seen that kind of "makework" phenomenon in private-sector, white-collar office work and it's pretty repugnant. I've never personally seen it in a factory though. In a factory, someone invests in raw materials only when they can rely on something of value being produced.

    That's why I have to scratch my head about all the uproar whenever some factory workers are allegedly caught using pot or having a beer on their break.

    I suppose it's the nature of class warfare to simmer constantly and then boil over every once in a while.
