Default Fire Chief Austin of "Burn" Fame Resigns

I finally saw the excellent Detroit firefighter documentary "Burn" on Netflix this past weekend. Austin came off as a bit of a jerk in a scene where he laid blame on the firefighters for what was really bureaucratic failures. Later he seemed to mellow.

From this article it seems he had some success. Tough job with little room to maneuver.

Excellent movie. I was shocked that DPD firefighters were paid an average of $30,000! That's peanuts, and that's dedication. I'm sure they could move elsewhere and get more wages.
