Default 5 Million added to project to DMB's directors brother

Sorry, I messed that title up...lol

5 million added to budget for DMB's Director's brother to fund private project...

When the heck is this crap going to stop? Let this guy go get a $5 million dollar loan and do his own damn project instead of MI tax payers who've had no say and don't even have a clue about it.

As much as I dislike the news when it comes to digging up dirt I give them credit. The gov says it's transparent? Make em prove it.

Firm That Pitched $5M For School Tech Run By Nixon's Brother

The idea for putting money in the 2013-14 fiscal year budget for a private firm to handle technology at several public schools came from a company run by the brother of Budget Director John Nixon that has since become one of six firms to bid for the project.
But the family tie between Utah-based iSchool Campus, whose chair and CEO is William Nixon, and the $5 million in PA 60 of 2013 was downplayed by John Nixon, an official with iSchool Campus and majority Republican legislators involved with the K-12 budget said. Not only did John Nixon recuse himself and his staff from any discussions about whether to provide funding for the program, but the money will be awarded through a competitive bidding process managed by the Department of Education instead of DTMB, which handles procurement and, like the budget office, is helmed by John Nixon.

As Nixon himself said "I am not a crook".
