    Default Detroit Street Signs Question

Does anyone know why the City stopped including the numbering on the Street Signs? For instance, the old signs has the beginning of the block like 700 in the upper right hand corner of the sign for a street block of 700 Pallister.

Numbered signs were used until 2003, when DPW started making the green with white border signs.
