Default Parkinson's takes Linda Ronstadt's voice

Michael Nesmith, writer of the song that started her success, said the following:

The awful news about Linda losing her voice to Parkinson's is terrible but it can never diminish the legacy she has created for us in the songs she has sung for all of us.

Because of her these songs will live as long as people listen to songs and these songs will always sing with the same power and beauty that she was and is.

Like all great gifts, these songs now sing to her as they once sang with her.

Listen to them. You will hear what she has done. What she has given us.
Her voice is far from stilled. It lives and sings forever down the halls of time.

Linda did more for Different Drum than I ever did -- or ever could have.

She breathed eternal life into it.

Nice comment from Mike. Here's a clip of Linda I never saw before. Singing the National Anthem at a Dodgers game:

When I heard it, it just made me sick. Not that there aren't a million stories that are sad. I hope she somehow pulls out a miracle.

She brought the great arranger/conductor Nelson Riddle out of retirement in 1982 and created three beautiful albums with him in the early-mid 80s that still receive airplay on satellite stations.

Those were good recordings. I had a co-worker who was living with Riddle's daughter, Maureen [[I think that was her name)

Linda Ronstadt's is one of the greatest happy sweet protest singers in all time. She kept the Summer of Love going with her beautiful music and being groovy with various bands.

rb336--interesting. I am Facebook friends with his eldest child, daughter Rosemary. He had 6 children. Shame he died so young [[64) and just before his work began its Renaissance. Linda Rondstadt helped that process along by exposing him to a whole new generation. His son Chris still keeps a band going as the Nelson Riddle Orchestra, out of New Jersey.
