He's doing the same thing in Detroit, the only difference is most of the city is that way so there's no outrage.

Matty is horrible for this region. He's lining his pockets while hurting our neighborhoods.

If he wants to buy up those houses he needs to fix them up and rent them up so those folks can live in a functional neighborhood.

Functional folks make a functional neighborhood.

Get him Windsorites! I say we sue him over here, too. What's Joumana charge?

Somebody on the U.S. side needs to go after him as well. His list of violations is a mile long.

Illegally closing 23rd Street; Illegal dumping in the lot at Vinewood & Jefferson; and turning Riverside Park into a disaster zone are just some of his many shameful accomplishments.

That would require our government to stand up to someone with large amounts of money. Do you see that happening any time soon?

Go back 30-40 years, he did the exact same thing on this side, all around
St. Anne's church and school. Go look at the wall that was put up to
try and stop his infringing in that area. Too little, too late. But, the area
did rebound with new housing, took a long time.

Canada has already tried to take the bridge away from him and he took them to the cleaners! One of the reasons why Canada is so inflexible about development for a second span. Its a total non starter and everyone is wasting the breath commenting on it!

Good Lord, please provide evidence before posting drivel like this. Ontario is opposed to another span at the current bridge location for the good and simple reason that trucks line up in residential neighborhoods; the bridge does not connect directly to a highway on the Ontario side. How are you related to Mr. Maroun? Just curious.

His effect on the Detroit side led a Metro Times editor to call him the worst corporate citizen ever, and I find no reason to disagree.

Simply put, Canada doesn't want the area around their side of the bridge to end up looking like the area around our side of the bridge. They actually seem to give a damn about their neighborhoods.
