Rather simple to understand. Voting cemetery plots is an old Detroit tradition.

UAW used to maintain "flying squads" who would go from voting location [[remember the old green portable shacks?) to voting location and at each one the leader would hand out the list of cemetery plots in that precinct so that the squad members knew who they were supposed to be.

One of our neighbors was a UAW leader. I remember election day in 1952, he came home very early and my father asked him why he was not out with his "squad". His answer was "No use, Eisenhower has too big a lead"

So, in the closing part of LeDuff’s video he mentioned that the Elections Deputy, Daniel Baxter, was retiring that day.

Is this the same Daniel Baxter [[age 47) that received this glowing article in the Detroit Free Press on Friday, August 9th?

Between the weird election math, Janice Winfrey & crew and retiring 20 years before most folks can collect social security it is no wonder Detroit is in the world of hurt it is in.
