    Default Maglio for Mayor

Maglio Ordonez has agreed to be the United Socialist Party candidate for mayor of Puerto La Cruz, a suburb of Caracas. Do I recall that Willie Hernandez was a successful candidate for
mayor of a Mexican city? Perhaps playing for the Tigers helps
in building a political career. Billy Rogell and Jim Bunning come to mind. Does Miguel Cabrera have a future in politics?

You are probably thinking of Aurelio Lopez, who was elected municipal president, basically the same as mayor, in his hometown in Mexico. Sad trivia fact: only 3 players in the Majors named Aurelio, including the Tigers' Rodriguez. All 3 died in car accidents in their 40's or 50's.
