Default "Motown love" - a longtime New Yorker explains why she might move to Detroit

I think Detroit has a much easier time courting other city-dwellers who are used to [[and enjoy and prefer) living in a city than it does its own surrounding suburbanites. I considered the same cities this blogger is considering now that she's leaving NYC with her husband and baby. I feel like I could have authored this post.

Despite its fairly serious issues, I have a deep and complicated crush on Detroit I can’t shake off, or even explain easily. While I was originally planning to write a straight-forward list of how it fit my personal qualifications for a home base [[the excellent airport and proximity to water are two big pluses), Motown’s charms are less simple and quantifiable than that.

Well, it is true that Detroit has an excellent airport and proximity to fresh water. Of course, neither characteristic has anything to do with actually living in the City of Detroit, but whatever works, I guess.
