Default Downtown Office Vacancy at lowest in 8 years

Not too surprising, but still good news to see.

During the second quarter of 2013, the vacancy rate in Detroit’s central business district dropped to 27.1 percent with 52,000 square feet of newly occupied space, according to Newmark Grubb Knight Frank, NKGF.

A good sign, and hopefully it will continue to improve...because we still have a way to go. Just to give some context:

    2013 Downtown Chicago = 14.9%

    2013 Downtown Cleveland = 20.0%

This doesn't really matter in the grand scheme, but are there statistics on how many firms are responsible for that occupancy? In other words, what % of the occupancy is attributed to Gilbertville compared to others?

What is the office vacancy rate in beautiful downtown Tyson's Corners?

Definitely on the right track, and definitely have quite a way to go. But its nice to see and nice that the office stock is being upgraded as well. I'm especially glad to hear that my old place of employment - the First National Building - is well occupied.

When you consider all of the new space that has come on line in places like PWC, Compuware, Blue Cross expansion, etc; and all of the old space that is transitioning to residential/hotel like the Whitney the numbers are even more remarkable.
