Isn't it odd that Zimmerman went to trial in a year but it took 4 years for this to get to trial?

Extenuating circumstances:

1. This is the military, not always known for their bureaucratic efficiency

2. There were psychological questions about Hassan - that complicates matters

3. "The twist here: He'll defend himself." - This complicates matters even more, now that you have an attorney who doesn't know what he's doing

The Zimmerman trial is pretty straightforward in comparison.
