Interesting viewpoint the author makes, comparing the heavy amount of attention given to a Detroit-based product [[such as the Chrysler 200) and the possibility that the rhetoric around point of origin overshadows the product's mediocrity. He compares it to Brooklyn-based manufacturer MakerBot.

Not sure what the rules and regs. are in your country, but would NOT be able to make that claim in Australia

I would pay ASSEMBLED in USA [its actually Swiss Made] and could very well be taken to task about that false and misleading claim!

Total sell out, so a good thing all the same, and dont bother with the old WW2 shoe-polish saying!

It's all marketing to me. Which means that I'm not taking it as a substantive argument. Others, on the other hand, may be more prone to its persuasive effects.

Well, the bikes are manufactured in Wisconsin and assembled in Detroit, so technically the "Made in USA" moniker can be used on that end of the business.

Yup, my last Ford was assembled in Mexico. It was a good car don't get me wrong after that I said I don't care anymore so now I have a German car.
