Default Detroit Beach @ Campus Martius Park

I was downtown this morning and stopped by "Detroit Beach" in Campus Martius .
From a urban planning stand point I really like the feel of the new "beach" .
Campus Martius does a excellent job of "slowing down" all the crazy traffic that would normally be at the insane intersection .
The "beach" really slows it down , I sat there this morning , shoes off in the sand, in a beach chair ,listening to the water features , watching several babies with moms play in the sand .
If you have a chance ,go and take off your shoes and check it out.Name: 936423_10151510561003494_1839785457_n.jpg

Thanks for those pics! We're headed down today for River Days and will be checking it out! I haven't been to Campus Martius in months.

You must have been down there pretty early for it to be that vacant! Great Pictures. A couple of friends and I took Olga's to-go and sat in the park the other week.

@ French yes I was down there very early I think 9 am on a Thursday morning .
@ Spartan yes the bar is open, they have a full bar , and I was told next week the full menu will up and running . I checked out the menu and they will have everything from appetizers , to salads , to sandwiches , the prices are medium prices, from $8 for appetizers , $9 for salads , and $10-$16 for sandwiches from Italian sausage to steak.
They will have severs/wait staff, to bring your items to your beach chair .
Also they are keeping/with slight changes for winter, of course they wont' keep the beach chairs sand ect.
all and all, I think this is very cool and steps Detroit's game up , It's quite impressive for the people of Detroit and for visitors alike .
    any thoughts ?

A bit disappointing, I was hoping it would be a bit cheaper. Will definitely have to check it out at some point though.
