    Default Catholic Theater of Detroit

Are there any threads about Catholic Theater of Detroit which met in the Gabriel Richard Building 305 Michigan Avenue? It was a thriving enterprise back in the 1950's when I was in High School. I joined and was in a couple of plays but the business of young life took me away. Lately, I've been thinking about it but can't find even a remnant of it anywhere. Having exhausted my comments about Nottingham and Denby and the Civic Center, I am wondering if anyone even remembers the Catholic Theater or would have any references to share about it. Thank You.

My mother was a member and performer there in the mid-1940s. Apparently it was at a different location then, on Washington Blvd. She's also interested in hearing any recollections or seeing any photos people have to post.

Apparently James Lipton of Inside the Actors Studio got his start at the Catholic Theater of Detroit. He mentions it in this interview, as well as his escapades as a pimp in Paris: http://www.parade.com/17599/dotsonra...ping-in-paris/
