Default Last Night Mayoral Debate - June 4, 2013

Can someone point me to a link to the mayoral debate that I heard about on Faux 2 but their website does not have a mention about it? Love to see how Duggan shot down Durhal and how Telford was "escorted" out the church for crashing the debate that he was not invited to!

That's all I could find. I'd love to read the transcript.

Snore with drool. These guys won't have any affect on what goes on fro a long time. It's all an ego trip for them.

Thx Texas T. I, too, would love to see the transcripts. I wonder why the debate was not advertised in the media? ie. I did not know where or what date a Debate was being held.

It's was a terrible move for Dr. John Telford. If he's uninvited in the Detroit Mayoral Debate kick him out immediately. Like always Tom Barrow opening up his crazy mouth the play race cards with Mike Duggan about Detroit's residency requirements. Put that away Barrow. You tried many times to run for mayor, but you always coming up short before the August primaries. You will not pass Benny Napoleon for mayoral bid.

I heard absolutely nothing about a debate until it was over. Then again, I didn't pay the closest attention to local news the last couple days.

Exactly Zug! How can the "average" Joe/Jane voter like myself make a conscious decision on who to vote for it we can here the candidates platform? Especially if you are undecided.

I think we are in for a colorful mayoral campaign. Who's making the popcorn?

What debate ? It was a mayoral free-for-all. Like the school board free-for-all and city council free-for-all. Good entertainment for a slow TV night. Call me when there is a real debate, otherwise I rather watch grass grow.

It's our opportunity, as a city, to say how we would like the slate to look as it's being wiped clean[[er).

Having Kevyn Orr around changes the stakes in an interesting way. It's almost like there's a brief timeout, except nobody knows when it's going to end. The ego trip of running is more subdued, and I think maybe that's a good thing. I do wish there were better candidates [[or, if there was someone good and credible in there, that they were getting any press, rather than everyone saying it's just a two-man horse race.)

So, the weirdness of the mayoral election, plus city council being elected by district [[plus also how much of current city council is not running for re-election) means that we have a great opportunity to pick leaders who will define the new, post-EFM, direction.

Moreover, CC and mayor are elected to a 4-year term. I suppose it's possible that there will still be an EFM or bankruptcy judge in the picture 4 years from now, but that would be a pretty dire course of events.

Irving is. Now the trick is finding out who Irving actually is and where he's got the pops!
