    That is an astute observation. My favorite white man who blacks supported heavily was Major Pingree. He was really the first to actively seek the black vote, he in turn supported black candidates. He was so highly thought of there was even a song written extolling his support for his black constituency. He was also instrumental in assisting to open the first black owned, black run doctors hospital.
