Default Cleanup begins of damaged flood areas in Chicago

The past couple of weeks, Chicago and the west side of Michigan were pounded by rain causing floodwaters to breach levies.

Every decade, a strong flood seems to hit the area. Since the 1970's the city is building 110 miles of underground tunnels [[called TARP Deep Tunnel) The project is $3 billion and will be completed by 2030.

Large volumes of water will be redirected to artificial rivers built beneath natural rivers and empty into massive underground chambers or vacated quarries. Depending on level of emergency, the system is used regardless of completion but has caused problems [[such as geysers) where bulkheads were not yet installed.

    Finished section of deep tunnel

Does any of that run directly under the loop? I see that a lot of it is in Lisle and Des Plains. Amazing photos of the Edens.
Unbelievable how widespread the flooding is.
