Default Nat'l Park Day at Historic Fort Wayne [[Sat. Apr. 6) VOLUNTEERS WELCOME

    http://www.civilwar.org/aboutus/events/park-day/

just throwing it out there a week in advance...

we had almost 100 U of M students out for a workday last weekend, but there is still much to be done before we can open for business in May.

we have tools available but it's probably best if you bring your own.
    bring your own gloves.
    lunch is provided.

we'll be clearing brush, picking up trash, etc. all are welcome.

    BUMP!

just a reminder, this is coming up this Saturday. i realize there are other cleanups going on in the city on the same day, but we have no control over when this is scheduled; that is determined by the Civil War Trust [[the guys fighting to keep places like Gettysburg battlefield from being turned into a Walmart)

please come & give us a hand at Fort Wayne.
mother nature doesnt take any days-off, so we can't either.

well we had a decent turnout yesterday of about 70 people. we focused on clearing brush, rubble, and stumps from up against the Fort walls down inside the moat so that we can now mow and properly maintain areas that were previously overgrown and unmowable. so real, sustainable progress is being made.

we have also done a lot more work on the lighting situation in the Visitor Center for the upcoming Flea Market next wknd.

we also have a website revamp coming soon.
