They are speculating she will run for Pres.. The media ripped her apart and will do it again.

I'd bet she's resigning over something else.

Should help the DYES Palin bashing brigade get their post counts back up.

This thread should be on the "Non Detroit" board.

Default Sarah Palin quits as Alaska Gov.

Two words: Thank GOD! Maybe we won't hear from her again.

She'll be playing basketball, according to her news conference.

Should be on the non-Detroit board.

Goodness, I hope she runs for president. That would really be too good to be true and could potentially wreck the stone-age Republicans forever if she was somehow nominated. But from the cryptic announcement my guess is that she's leaving office over something else.

She certainly can't be serious about running in 2012, she's an impossible choice on so many levels. Since she's backed by the Australian fascist, Rupert Murdoch, she'll generate tons of cash for Uncle Rupert, which is the real story here, since his papers will get the frothing Neanderthals that make up the Rethuglican Reich out in force to support her.

I'll guess it's either going to be a talk show [[talking ad nauseum is what she does best) or a traveling 2012 sideshow, which either way will make the moneyed interests behind her very happy, and she'll get rich quick. Sure beats flogging Alaskan economic policy on bureaucrat's wages.

Resigning, or quitting if you will, can sometimes be appropriate. For sure I've done it before. A brief scan of some of her comments on this left me a bit unsympathetic however. I wish her well in spite of the fact that I disagree with much of her politics.

Don't feel sorry for Sarah Palin. She apparently has many other opportunities in front of her.

    Who cares? She's a fake b-tch anyways.

Trust me, no one feels sorry for Saracuda.

She's a legend in her own mind.

What ever whacked out reason she comes up with as to why she's quitting will no doubt rival Mark Sanford's purple prose.

Makes me realize how she was never McCain's choice, as the recently revealed insider sniping by the campaign told us.

She not only isn't ready for prime time, but never will be, since I don't see her studying for her masters or doctorate in anything relevant to holding national office, which she is incapable of doing at this late stage.

As Ron White says, you can't fix stupid.

She looked cute wearing nylons and pig-tails in Runners World magazine recently. Cougar?

Saracuda just said in her resignation announcement that she's "keeping her eye on the basket" Which one? Todd's, or some other hunk?

You just can't make this stuff up!

I don't get the hate. The campaign forfeited the whole state for whatever reason. As far as [[female?) governors go, I wouldn't be proud to compare Granholm's record to Palins

Palin has no record, and leaves nothing but wreckage behind, as she washes her hands of the whole dirty mess.

She was charged with five counts of ethics violations, which she was miraculously acquitted of, doesn't change the underlying implication. Ted Stevens was also another one who was acquitted, but it didn't change the fact he was a crook.

She may have another shoe to drop with regard to this resignation, perhaps another more insidious accusation.

When mayor of Wasilla, one of her first acts was to fire the much loved head librarian, who refused to remove books which Saracuda found "objectionable." After extreme protestations from the public, the librarian was re-hired.

She's a bad egg, really. A fascist ideologue who calls upon her Kenyan witch doctor to exorcise the demons in and around her, so she can be a successful governor. Guess that didn't work out so well.

This entire sideshow is really much fun! There is no way she can ever be considered a serious candidate for anything more than Fox News analyst. LOL!!!

She has a shot at 2012 for sure. Remember, 2008 was before Obama socialised and destroyed the country.

Good grief, did anyone hear her press conference? Is she is on crytal meth or what? STFU already and take a breath! This is the voice of the new conservative movement and new Republican Party? Wow!

She was rambling incoherently all over the place. I see one of two reasons. Somebody has some goods on her ala Sanford, Ensign, Craig, Haggard, Gingrich, Limbaugh, Swaggert... or she has an offer she can't refuse from Fox to be a talking head. Alaska is either too big or too small for her.

"Trust me," she says. Okayyyy. [eye rolling]

I heard it, but I didn't hear anything!!!

She rambled on like minnie mouse on crack.

    LOL!!!

I think she must be on crack or meth- probably got some from her daughter's not quite to-be mother in law. Wasilla was/is the meth capital of Alaska, and Alaska is tops in the US.

God, it must be dull living in a place where good sense and politics go to die.

Gosh Lowell, Palin's announcement even brings you out? Thanks for the clip. In watching the clip with the volume turned down, one can see the "aw shucks" etc... is still there, even under these circumstances [[resignation).

I love the parts where she says "I have explained why" and "I have given my reasons". When the Governor gives a speech like that, doesn't the opposing party get rebuttal time to say something like, "Mrs. Palin, what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul."
