League Park in Cleveland, Navin Field in Detroit

League Park at East 66th and Lexington in Cleveland opened just a year before Navin Field. And, it replaced a previous park at that location that dated from 1890. Apparently, efforts to place a field and museum at the League Park site will be successful this summer. The last time I was there, the only relics were one outfield wall and the office building that held the ticket office. It is interesting that folks in Cleveland presume that making League Park an historic site will benefit the neighborhood. It is not an upscale one.

Interestingly Osburne Engineering played a role in the design of League Park, Navin Field and the two parks in Boston that were build at about the same time: Braves Field and Fenway.

It is a little difficult to imagine that a group in Detroit will have the power to place a ball field and museum at Michigan and Trumbull.

I guarantee you the grass will be cut at the corner of Michigan & Trumbull this summer, if the faithful have their way.
