Stop using banks? What century do you think this is? Use them sensibly and you gain convenience, perks, and interest.

    ".....gain convenience, perks, and interest."

Why do I see Kathy Lee Gifford when hearing this?

Next thing you'll be modeling a toaster.

I have nothing against banks when they are regulated, and lend responsibly. I am really a capitalist in the mold of an FDR.

No one today has reason to trust banks to perform any better than a lousy circus act. The Neocons in charge did this to us. It's time to nationalize the banks, reorganize, regulate, and recapitalize them, and turn them loose to sink or swim.

If they sink, then we'll just have a couple of nationalized banks, owned and operated by the American people.

Give Lorax some credit, any of you may be able to own a legitimate business in Michigan, but how many of you have actually taken the initiative?

You're asking other people about initiative? This from the guy who asks about stores on here because he's too lazy to walk down the street and see for himself? Isn't about time for you to start yet another blog?

Jeesh cheddar bob, do you and DetroitDad have some sort of history/drama here on DYes? I'll admit I'm unaware if you do.

I recall there was once discussion here on DYes of coming up with virtual "boxing ring" [[thread) where posters could duke it out with each other outside of targeted threads. That and a sports thread sound great.

Problem with the ignore feature is that when using it one can easily miss a detail that truly is pertinent to the thread. So I toggle it on and off as needed. IRL we ignore and then un-ignore people as well.

I think he's just upset that I am ignoring his posts. That's really all I got.

Problem with the boxing ring thread is that attack posting is all some posters do. They think they have some God given gift that makes them better than you and I, and love to point out other's shortcomings. It's better just to ignore them, and ignore them even more when they throw temper tantrums over it like the above poster. I generally only block people who consistently don't add anything to the conversation. I find that unblocking these people out of curiosity only detracts from often otherwise great threads and topics.

    Just ignore those clowns.

Yes. He's self-righteous, thinks he knows a lot but really knows little, talks too much and does little listening, consistently makes plans for forum meet ups and outings and then doesn't show up, and insists that there are attendants in the casino bathrooms when there obviously isn't. Is that enough of a reason for you why I don't like the kid? I'm sure there are some other reasons, maybe someone else can jog my memory.

If Detroit Dad is really Sean of Detroit, his spelling has certainly improved.

Let's see, 5000 in rebate checks in 10 years, zero interest or penalties, and no need to carry wads of cash...convenience, perks, and interest on display.

You're carrying a wad, alright, but cash wasn't what I had in mind.

You may feel footloose and fancy free with your bank, the rest of us who have had more than casual interaction with them have reason to be suspicious.

The opposite of footloose and fancy free Lorax...responsible and level headed use to my own best advantage.

What do you mean by that "wad" comment? Is that some sort of personal attack against me?
