A big force behind the Detroit casino initiative whose checkered background, in the end, denied him a license. Maybe that wasn't so bad for him considering the Greektown Casino's financial woes. Some say he played a big role in bolstering the Detroit economy, others say he lay waste to Greektown's charm. None can deny his major influence on Downtown Detroit.
