Default 4 Steps Detroit Government Needs to Take in 2013

    interesting article...
"2012 was a stressful year, with Detroiters plagued by threats of a state takeover of the city, budgetary cuts, and arguments between City Council and Mayor Dave Bing. Sorry, one's living in fantasy land if they THINK they can "Put the City of Detroit back on the righ track" and "Limit the amount of stress placed on residents."

One of the main causes of stress amongst city residence is likely a unresponsive government, which [[if the plan is to straighten the finances) will become an even more unresponsive government.

Vic, you think the article was interesting? I thought it was a waste of 3 minutes of my life to read it. The 4 steps are superficial and don't take in the realities of working with a budget constantly under duress by falling revenue. Steps One and Two put the onus on Council to fix the city. We know that's not going to happen. He criticized Council for "constantly attempting to turn down any plan the mayor has." A plan from Bing? What plan is that? As bad as Council is, Bing has been a bigger failure, and Bing is the MAYOR. It seems the writer is more interested in defending Bing's actions in tandem with Snyder than anything else.

What do you expect from the Yahoo contributor network? It has about as much content as a Daniel Howes column.
